Here in North Idaho, once the weather starts to change, lips start to hurt and crack. I have always been a Carmex girl, even though my mom always swore by Chapstick. The Carmex would usually work quite well on my cracked lips, but it would take 1-2 DAYS!!
Once I found out I got picked by Smiley360 to test and review the new dual ended Chapstick Hydration Lock for day and night complimentary, I was quite excited.
The weather has changed started changing here in CDA, and it's been painful. First sinuses, which leads to sleeping with my mouth open, to crack and painful lips. I was excited to apply the night end of the Chapstick before bed to see if it would help prevent it.
First let's talk about the product it's self. Let's be honest, no one gets through a full tube of chapstick before losing it, and now Chapstick wants me to try 2 types?! Well thank goodness Chapstick came up with the dual ended Chapstick. On one side is the night time, and the other side is the day time. The design is quite nice, simple, and stable. Of course I had to smell both sides. While neither side had a specific smell, I will admit I like the night time side better for some reason.
Okay, now for the true test...did it work?
So I started with the night side right before bed. I applied about 2 applications because I like to feel it on my lips. It was not sticky or slimy, which is always a good thing. I didn't feel like dog hair or even my hair was going to cling to my lips, which is an even better thing. When I woke up the next morning, I had no cracks! My lips finally did not hurt! This was awesome for me. Then I went to the mirror, did it leave a 'buildup' like other chapsticks? No it did not!
Next we go to the Day side. I attempted to use the day side throughout the day, but I found it hard. I think it had a lot to do with lack of smell honestly. But when I did remember to use it, it felt just as great as the night side. Once again, no slimy or sticky mess!
I reviewed the package to try and determine the difference between the 2, and why would I like one side more than the other? I think the difference is this; day has SPF 12 and moisturizers, while the night has natural butters, antioxidants, and Tamanu oil. I must just prefer the butter and oils over the moisturizers.
All in All, The Chapstick Hydration Lock Day & Night is a great product. I can say I know now why my mom has always picked Chapstick. While I still like Carmex, I'm very impressed with the Chapstick brand, and can't wait to use my coupons on trying other products.

sugar-free dye-free Children's Advil..how did it stack up?
I was excited to get picked to try the sugar-free dye-free Children's Advil. We do use children's medicine quite often in our house. My 3 year old daughter is in daycare, and any mom with their kids in daycare knows how often your babies get sick around all the other children. I was even more excited to see not only that it was sugar-free BUT also dye-free. I hate giving my daughter tons of additives. Let's avoid them if I can.
Well right at the time that I received the smiley360 kit in the mail for the Children's Advil, our doctor advised that my daughter, Teagan, had a bad ear infection that just won't quit. Our doctor suggested that we give Teagan Advil for the pain that she was experiencing. We have tried to avoid giving any additional medication because Teagan is receiving antibiotics right now, and who wants to stack medications.
Yesterday we needed to run errands, so we gave Teagan a dose of the sugar-free dye-free Children's Advil. We were hoping that this would help her get through errands without being extremely uncomfortable. First smell and taste are always a big thing, especially with my daughter. First the sight did catch me off guard, DUH 'dye-free', it was a milky white color. Of course I am not use to this. The smell was good, it smelled like berries. No problems there. Teagan took a dose like a champ. I am not sure how quickly the medicine took affect, because Teagan was not complaining about the pain at that time, but she did seem to be in a 'better' mood after about 30-45 minutes. We were able to complete all our errands, including going to multi stores. The entire time Teagan did not complain, and was very pleasant, even other people commented on her wonderful demeanor.
I am glad to say that the sugar-free dye-free Children's Advil made this day of errands running much easier to complete. It was nice to have my daughter in a great mood even though she is not feeling well. It's even better that she was in such a great mood, that other people noticed it as well. We will continue to use Children's Advil because it works.
(I did receive sugar-free dye-free Children's Advil for testing purposes from smiley360, however my review is 100% my own experiences and opinions.)
